On Saturday, 28 Sept 2013 Balinese was celebrated a Tumpek Wariga or Tumpek Pengatag. Tumpek Wariga is the day when a blessing ceremony is given to the plants, the ceremony held at every plantation and farm throughout the island. Tumpek Wariga is celebrated every 210 days or 6 months of the Balinese calendar. Balinese express their gratitude to the trees through the celebration of Tumpek Wariga and how this holiday serves as a remainder of the importance of trees for Balinese’s life and also serves as a message for the Balinese to preserve the tree. So this time I will put emphasis on unique "mepengarah" giving an instruction ritual which is practiced on the celebration of this ceremony.
The unique of this ritual which Balinese give an instruction to the trees, they will tap the tree three times to wake it up and give the instruction that is 25 days left for "Galungan" Ceremony and please produce a lot of fruit.
As well at The Ubud Village Resort, we also conduct Tumpek Wariga ceremony on the coconut tree, mango, rice, Guava, banana and another trees.
